SBF's motion for new trial denied

April 28, 2026, 10:28 PM
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried's motion for a new trial has been denied, Unfolded reported. Bankman-Fried had previously filed the motion, claiming the discovery of new evidence. However, Judge Lewis Kaplan, who presided over the 2023 trial, rejected the claims and upheld the original verdict. The decision leaves an appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals as Bankman-Fried's sole remaining legal recourse.
