Crypto consumer complaints in Busan jump 37-fold

August 10, 2026, 4:24 AM
Consumer complaints in Busan tied to cryptocurrency surged more than 37-fold from a year earlier amid the expansion of digital trading and a rise in new types of consumer harm, the Naeil Shinmun reported. According to Busan city government data analyzing consumer counseling cases received by the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center and the city’s Consumer Life Center in the first half of 2026, cryptocurrency-related consultations totaled 150, up 3,650% from a year earlier. The increase came after a major digital asset exchange ran an event offering coins to new users but failed to deliver the promised coins to some participants. The related dispute remains under resolution procedures.
