Andrew Cuomo, a director at OKX, a cryptocurrency exchange with Chinese roots, said at the OKX NOW conference in Singapore today that a tokenized securities exchange to be operated with ICE, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, is expected to launch in about 30 days.
Cuomo added that documents have been filed with the U.S. SEC to launch the tokenized securities exchange in the United States. The exchange is expected to operate under the SEC's "Innovation Exemption" mechanism, with the SEC set to cap the number of tradable stocks and trading volume.
CoinNess previously reported that OKX and ICE were pursuing the launch of a tokenized securities exchange in the United States through their joint venture, OKXICE.
