TOKEN2049 security workshop organizers accused of forcing remote-control app installs

October 12, 2026, 3:00 PM
Organizers of the “Don’t Get Played” security workshop held during TOKEN2049 in Singapore are facing allegations that attendees were pressured to install a remote-control app on their devices. The event, hosted by Apex Accelerator and Stone Venture, was offered free of charge on wallet security checks and scam prevention, and drew participants with a one-year free pass for security software covering up to $1 million in rewards. However, complaints spread on X, formerly Twitter, from alleged victims who said they were forced on-site to install an app capable of remotely controlling their devices, and the matter has reportedly been taken to police.
