U.S. GDP growth exceeds expectations with 1.4% increase in Q1

The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that first-quarter GDP grew by 1.4% from the previous quarter, exceeding market expectations of a 1.3% rise. The U.S. GDP growth rate is released in three different estimates: advance, second and final. Today's announcement represents the final estimate.
