U.S. GDP outpaces expectations with 2.4% growth in Q4

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce reported that the GDP expanded at an annual rate of 2.4% in the fourth quarter, topping market forecasts of a 2.3% increase. GDP growth figures in the U.S. are released in three phases: advance, preliminary and final estimates. The figure announced today is the final estimate.
