SEC and Ripple reach settlement, ending legal dispute

The U.S. SEC has submitted a settlement agreement with Ripple to the court, reducing Ripple’s fine from $125 million to $50 million. Both parties will withdraw their appeals, concluding the legal battle, James K. Filan, a former federal prosecutor posted on X. The SEC will also request the court to lift the sales ban on Ripple. A 2023 court ruling had found XRP sales to institutional investors violated securities laws, while programmed XRP sales did not.Log in to leave comments!
