James Howells, who accidentally threw away a hard drive containing 8,000 BTC (now worth $950 million) 12 years ago and recently gave up searching for it, announced via X that he plans to tokenize those BTC assets. Howells is tokenizing all the coins into 800 billion Ceiniog Coin (INI) tokens. Powered by OP_RETURN, INI is built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain, alongside integration with Stacks, Runes and Ordinals. The token will debut by the end of the year. "You can block the gates. You can pack the courts. But you cannot block the blockchain. Crypto already won," said Howells.
