Galaxy Digital research head says US likely to create a BTC reserve this year

Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, said there is a high probability that the U.S. government will establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) by the end of this year. According to Cointelegraph, Thorn stated on X that he believes the government will create an SBR and declare BTC an official strategic asset, adding that the market appears to be underpricing this possibility. His comments follow a previous statement from Patrick Witt, the new chairman of the White House's crypto advisory committee, who mentioned stockpiling BTC as one of the administration's top three priorities.
