Bank of Italy calls for clearer EU stablecoin regulations

The Bank of Italy has urged the European Union to establish clear regulatory measures for stablecoins issued across multiple countries, BeInCrypto reported.
Chiara Scotti, the central bank's deputy governor, explained that clear and consistent regulation is necessary for cross-border stablecoins. She warned that regulatory uncertainty could lead to legal disputes and risks to financial stability. Scotti added that for stablecoins issued outside the EU but redeemable within the bloc, separate regulatory guidelines must be created to protect users and ensure market stability.
