Kwon Do-hyung, co-founder of Terraform Labs, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a U.S. court, could face a sentence of life imprisonment or imprisonment for more than 5 years if repatriated to Korea, but the sentence could be lower than expected, according to the Korea Law Daily. The media explained, "Article 7 of the Criminal Act stipulates that a person whose sentence has been executed abroad shall be included in the sentence to be imposed, in whole or in part. However, the extent to which it is included is at the discretion of the court." Meanwhile, it is known that the U.S. prosecution will not oppose Kwon Do-hyung's request for overseas transfer after serving half of his sentence locally. Accordingly, the possibility of Kwon Do-hyung being repatriated to Korea before completing his sentence in the U.S. is also being discussed.
