A petition for the release of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who was arrested by French authorities, has surpassed 300,000 signatures, according to The Block. TON Society, a community-centered initiative of the TON ecosystem that developed the mini-app that allows people to sign a letter of support, said that Durov's arrest is a direct attack on the fundamental human right to freedom of expression. Meanwhile, French prosecutors announced that they have not formally charged Durov and that he could be released on August 28 if the charges are not proven. Tesla founder Elon Musk, Tron founder Justin Sun and Solana (SOL) founder Anatoly Yakovenko have also publicly expressed support for the campaign to release Durov.
