Analyst: BTC volatility to persist amid macroeconomic uncertainty
October 21, 2025, 6:01 AM
Bitcoin's recent decline is due to a macroeconomic crisis that includes U.S.-China trade tensions, and this volatility will likely continue as long as these tensions persist, BTSE Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jeff Mei said in an interview with The Block.
Mei stated that the greatest risk in the current environment is unpredictability stemming from the macroeconomic situation and trade discussions. He advised investors to diversify their assets and prepare for the uncertainty, noting that major announcements are also expected this month. These include a U.S. interest rate decision and the possibility that the U.S. Federal Reserve could end its quantitative tightening program early.
