French lower house passes crypto tax bill

November 03, 2025, 6:12 AM
France's lower house of parliament has passed an amendment to the tax code that would impose a levy on non-productive assets, including cryptocurrency, Cointelegraph reported. The proposal calls for a flat 1% tax on crypto holdings of €2 million or more and a maximum rate of 1.5% on assets exceeding €10 million. The bill must still pass the upper house during the 2026 budget deliberations to be enacted into law.
