Samourai Wallet co-founder sentenced to 4 years in prison

William Lonergan Hill, co-founder of the Bitcoin mixing service Samourai Wallet, has been sentenced to four years in prison by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, The Block reported. The conviction was for operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. Prosecutors stated that Samourai Wallet was used to launder $237 million in illicit funds. The sentencing follows that of co-founder Keonne Rodriguez, who received a five-year prison term on Nov. 7.
