BIS names IMF digital currency head to lead Innovation Hub

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has appointed Tommaso Mancini-Griffoli as the next head of its Innovation Hub, Cointelegraph reported. Mancini-Griffoli, who currently leads the coordination group on digital money at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will begin the role in March 2026, overseeing work on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), tokenized assets, and new market infrastructure.
