Republicans push for swift vote on crypto market structure bill
December 11, 2025, 12:49 AM
The Republican Party is accelerating efforts to bring the crypto market structure bill (CLARITY ACT) to a vote, even as the Democratic Party remains focused on amending the bill's draft, The Hill reported. Citing an anonymous source, the publication noted that the next 48 hours will be critical in determining whether the legislation moves forward next week.
In connection with the push, Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis announced plans to release a revised draft of the bill by this weekend and call for a vote next week. Lummis described the latest draft as the most complete version yet, stressing the need to hold a vote quickly to allow participants to catch their breath over the Christmas holiday. She added that bipartisan aides are becoming exhausted by the prolonged negotiations, raising concerns that emotions could become frayed, and said it is time to make the draft public as the industry has grown anxious about the closed-door talks between the parties.
