The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has launched a new innovation advisory committee composed largely of figures from the cryptocurrency industry, according to CoinDesk. CFTC Commissioner Mike Selig, who is reorganizing the advisory body, has appointed CEOs from crypto firms including Gemini's Tyler Winklevoss, Kraken, Crypto.com, Bitnomial, and Bullish as inaugural members. The committee also includes representatives from prediction market platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi, alongside personnel from traditional financial institutions such as Nasdaq, CME, ICE, and Cboe. Selig stated that the commission aims to develop market structure regulations that are fit-for-purpose and reflect emerging technologies like AI and blockchain.
