Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum's co-founder, shared on X a breakdown of the Ethereum Foundation's 2023 expenditures, highlighting key spending categories. The largest portion of the budget, 36.5%, was allocated to "New Institutions," which includes organizations like Nomic Foundation, The DRC, L2Beat and 0xPARC. Significant investments were also made in layer-1 research and development (24.9%) and community development (12.7%). Buterin also revealed his annual salary, amounting to 182,000 SGD (approximately $134,000).
