Securitize, a platform for real asset tokenization and security tokens, has partnered with QCP Capital to execute a Bitcoin-based basis trade, using BlackRock’s tokenized BUIDL fund as collateral, according to The Block. This marks the first derivatives trade backed by BlackRock’s on-chain fund. The strategy combines a 4.25% yield from BUIDL with returns from the basis trade and additional Bitcoin options, generating an annualized yield of over 20%. Tokenized funds like BUIDL, launched in 2024, are growing in popularity for their transparency and efficiency in crypto-based financial strategies.
