A British court has rejected James Howells' appeal to allow him to excavate a landfill where a hard drive containing Bitcoin is believed to be buried. According to BeInCrypto, he threw away a hard drive containing about 8,000 Bitcoin (currently worth about $675 million) in 2013. Over the years, he has repeatedly asked Newport City Council to allow him to inspect the landfill, but his requests have been turned down. Howells said he will file a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The city of Newport plans to close the landfill in 2026 and build a solar power plant in its place.
