Bitcoin network transactions hit 18 month low

The number of transactions recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain network has hit an 18 month low, according to The Block. The current weekly average for BTC transactions is around 350,000, a sharp decrease from the mid-2024 high of over 700,000 per day. The media outlet analyzed that this is due to the cooling of interest in Bitcoin native protocols such as Runes and Ordinals.
