June 25, 2025, 3:55 AM
Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has frozen 112 addresses on the Tron and Ethereum blockchains in the wake of Israel’s attack on Iran, according to crypto researcher @Cryptadamist on X. The affected wallets had collectively received roughly 700 million USDT before being frozen. The researcher also pointed out that most Iranian crypto platforms rely on USDT transactions conducted via Tron. The development follows reports of a $90 million hack targeting Nobitex, Iran’s largest crypto exchange.
