dYdX launches perpetuals for betting on Shohei Ohtani's World Series outcome

Decentralized exchange dYdX (DYDX) announced on Oct. 22 the launch of a perpetual futures product for betting on the outcome of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series. According to an official blog post, the contract's price will reflect market predictions and odds on an LA Dodgers victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. A winning bet will cause the position to settle at $1, while a losing bet will see its value fall to zero. The product supports up to five times leverage. Interest in the series is particularly high as it will determine whether Shohei Ohtani, often cited as the greatest player in baseball history, will win a championship title.
