EthHub co-founder: Ethereum gas limit could triple next year
November 29, 2025, 2:39 AM
Anthony Sassano, co-founder of EthHub, said Ethereum's gas limit could be increased by more than three times next year, Cointelegraph reported, citing the Bankless podcast. He noted that some developers are advocating for a fivefold increase, a position supported by Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin. Sassano explained that this expansion could be achieved by repricing network activities, such as lowering the cost of a native ETH transfer from 21,000 to 6,000 gas. This specific change could reduce costs by over 70% and, if applied to other operations, would allow for a substantial increase in the overall gas limit. The discussion follows a recent increase in the Ethereum mainnet block gas limit from 45 million to 60 million.
