The index is calculated by comparing the price performance of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization against Bitcoin over the past 90 days, excluding stablecoins and wrapped tokens. An altcoin season is designated when 75% of these top altcoins outperform Bitcoin during this period. A score closer to 100 signals a stronger altcoin market.
