U.S. may be planning to sell Bitcoin seized from Silk Road

October 08, 2024, 3:28 PM
The U.S. government appears to be planning to sell the 69,370 BTC seized from the defunct dark web platform, Silk Road, according to a report by Watcher Guru. Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit involving Battle Born Investments, who had laid claim to the Silk Road Bitcoin. The Bitcoin has an appropriate dollar value of $4.4 billion. It’s currently being managed by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). The dismissal of the lawsuit paves the way for the U.S. Marshals Service to dispose of the Bitcoin should it choose to do so.
