Japan’s Metaplanet set to raise $5.4B for further BTC acquisition

Simon Gerovich, CEO of Metaplanet, a Japanese publicly listed company known for investing in Bitcoin (BTC), shared on X that Metaplanet is raising 770.9 billion yen ($5.4 billion) in funding to purchase more Bitcoin (BTC). As a result, the firm plans to issue 555 million new shares through moving strike warrants. Based on Metaplanet’s high volatility and deep liquidity, these shares will debut in Japan at a premium to the market.
