Bitcoin improvement proposal BIP-119 could be approved by year-end

Steven Roose, CEO of Bitcoin payments firm Second, told Cointelegraph that BIP-119, a Bitcoin improvement proposal that puts forward a new BTC scripting method, could be approved by the end of the year. If approved, BIP-119 is expected to enhance Bitcoin’s scalability, security and usability. Moreover, it could also optimize Bitcoin’s self-custody and fee management, as well as support smarter layer-2 applications like Lightning and Ark.
