Kristin Johnson, the sole Democratic commissioner at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will step down on Sept. 3, Bloomberg reported. Her departure will leave the agency to operate under the sole leadership of Acting Chair Caroline Pham. In a statement announcing her resignation, Johnson said the CFTC should receive more support to carry out its expanded role, including the regulation of digital assets.
