Institutional crypto adoption gaining momentum, JPMorgan says

September 10, 2025, 4:31 PM
Institutional adoption of cryptocurrency is gaining momentum, although it remains in its early stages, according to a new report from JPMorgan. The report, cited by CoinDesk, notes that bullish initial public offerings and the passage of stablecoin legislation have heightened institutional interest in the sector. This is evidenced by record-high open interest in crypto derivatives among institutional investors on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). The bank also highlighted that institutions now hold approximately one-quarter of all Bitcoin ETFs. Citing an EY survey, the report added that 85% of companies have either already invested in crypto or plan to do so by 2025. JPMorgan identified ETH and SOL as primary beneficiaries of this trend.
