India delays cryptocurrency policy paper due to other priorities

India has postponed the release of its cryptocurrency policy paper, initially expected in September, as officials focus on more pressing matters, including upcoming IMF and World Bank meetings, and the national budget, according to CoinDesk. Although crypto regulation remains unaddressed, stiff taxes and anti-money laundering measures are in place. The delay comes despite recent challenges, such as a $234 million hack of the WazirX Exchange, with officials not viewing crypto legislation as urgent as it was two years ago.
