India finds $97M in unpaid taxes owed by crypto exchanges

The Indian government has revealed that several major crypto exchanges, including Binance, WazirX, CoinDCX and CoinSwitch Kuber, owe a total of 824 crore Indian rupees ($97 million) in unpaid goods and services taxes (GST), according to Cointelegraph. A Binance spokesperson stated that the exchange is working closely with regulatory authorities and attending necessary hearings to address any concerns. This follows a demand in August from Indian law enforcement for Binance to pay 722 crore Indian rupees ($85 million) in unpaid taxes.
