Ownership and rewards

What sets Chronicles apart is its play-to-own (P2O) service, allowing players to own in-game assets and be rewarded for their time and efforts. This is made possible through a system of tokenomics, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

Since its global launch in March of this year, Chronicles has garnered significant recognition and popularity due to its sophisticated strategy gameplay and abundant content. Now, with its integration into the XPLA blockchain, the game aims to establish itself as an AAA title within the blockchain gaming market.

Three in-game currencies

The game’s P2O system is pillared by three in-game currencies: Rahild, Mileage, and Xlium. Players can earn Rahild by trading items, participating in events, and accomplishing challenging tasks. Rahild can then be exchanged for Mileage and other valuable items. Mileage, on the other hand, can be traded for Xlium, which can be further converted to XPLA, the native token of the blockchain, through XPLA GAMES Wallet.

A Com2uS official said that the introduction of Chronicles on the XPLA mainnet opens up a world of exciting gaming experiences for both existing players and newcomers exploring the Web3 gaming realm. Players will not only be able to explore multiple ways to grow their characters but also have the chance to earn rewards for their gameplay. The game’s improved economic system will ensure that all users can make progress. Com2uS looks forward to taking this opportunity to help its flagship game succeed in the global blockchain game market.

Thailand plans to enable tourists to spend crypto

The Thai government is planning to enable tourists to spend crypto via credit card, according to information revealed by Thailand’s finance minister on May 26.Photo by rc.xyz NFT gallery on UnsplashPichai Chunhavajira, the Southeast Asian nation’s finance minister and deputy prime minister, delivered a keynote speech at an investment seminar in Bangkok in which he outlined that while some countries enable people to purchase goods directly with cryptocurrency, another option is to allow consumers to link their digital assets with other services such as credit cards.  In that way, the consumer can spend crypto through credit card services. English language news outlet The Nation reported that Chunhavajira confirmed that the government is preparing to launch a pilot project that would allow tourists to spend crypto in this manner within Thailand. Seamless conversion from crypto to fiatWith this system, merchants would still receive payment in Thai baht. From the point of view of the user, crypto could be spent but any exchange between crypto and fiat currency would happen seamlessly and automatically via the credit card service provider’s platform.Discussions between officials from the Bank of Thailand and the Ministry of Finance are ongoing with regard to the proposed scheme. It’s understood that similar existing models which have been introduced overseas are being examined. It’s likely that the pilot program is the same as the project that was announced by Chunhavajira in January when he alluded to a program enabled for foreign tourists visiting the Thai tourist resort of Phuket. At that time, it was envisaged that the scheme would adhere to existing legal frameworks and implicate identity verification through a third party service provider, with conversion from crypto to Thai baht to be enabled such that there would be no material difference experienced by merchants. Targeting touristsThis is not the first occasion in which tourists have been targeted by crypto-related initiatives. Earlier this month, it was announced that Binance Pay, a crypto payment service offered by global crypto exchange Binance, had partnered with the government of the Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan to launch the world’s first national-level crypto tourism payment system. In July 2024, the governor of Jeju Province in South Korea advocated for the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and crypto as part of Jeju Island’s tourism strategy. Last December the province announced a digital transformation roadmap that sets out a cashless future. Plans include the introduction of a system for converting digital assets and facilitating payment methods from neighboring countries like China and Japan. However, not all governments have been keen to facilitate tourists in spending crypto. In May 2023, the governor of the province of Bali in Indonesia cautioned foreign visitors to the region against the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for goods and services. Governor Wayan Koster warned that visitors using cryptocurrency for payments could face severe consequences, including criminal penalties and deportation.

Animoca founder: $200T crypto market within 10 years

The global cryptocurrency market is poised for unprecedented growth, potentially reaching $200 trillion within a decade, according to Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands, a prominent Hong Kong-based Web3 game software company and venture capital firm. 2-3x within 18 monthsCurrently valued at approximately $2.7 trillion according to data from crypto aggregator CoinGecko, the cryptocurrency market is set to double or triple in the near term, Siu predicted on The Valr Podcast on May 28. “In the near term — within 12 to 18 months — we can conceive of a doubling or tripling of the space,” he stated, expressing strong confidence in the industry's future milestones. Siu elaborated on his bold forecast, suggesting that over a five to ten-year period, the market could accelerate by 100 to 200 times, potentially reaching a valuation of $200 trillion or even higher. In conversation with Farzam Ehsani, the co-founder of Valr, a platform that allows users to buy, sell, store and transfer crypto assets, Siu said:“I think we could reach that kind of number within a decade.” This explosive growth, according to Siu, will be driven by billions of people becoming digital property owners within the Web3 ecosystem. Siu stated: “It is entirely conceivable that we’re going to have a billion property owners because we’re going to have a billion token holders. This is not possible in the physical world.”Photo by Pierre Borthiry - Peiobty on UnsplashAsia fastest growing marketSiu also pointed out the regional dynamics within the Web3 space, noting that Asia has emerged as the fastest-growing market. “Right now, the leading force in Web3 is clearly Asia,” he argued, citing robust adoption rates in regions such as Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Japan. In contrast, jurisdictions like the United States are lagging behind, primarily due to regulatory uncertainties. Siu pointed out that historically, the United States has tended to take a leadership role where new technology is concerned. Web3 is turning out to be the exception to that rule. With that, he thinks that it is Asia that will lead the way and that it will continue to lead for the foreseeable future where Web3 is concerned. Bullish on BitcoinHis optimism about the Web3 market's potential aligns with his bullish stance on Bitcoin, currently standing at a market capitalization of $1.3 trillion. Siu made another bold prediction recently, expressing confidence that Bitcoin would eventually reach $1 million. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $68,346. While that’s far from his $1 million unit price prediction, he did state at Web Summit Rio in April that it would do so “over time.”  That bullishness from the Animoca founder has also manifested itself within the company itself. In early May, the company announced its entry into the Bitcoin ecosystem by endorsing the Opal Foundation, a Bitcoin-centric protocol. At the time, Siu suggested that Bitcoin is now primed for Web3. Siu's projections reflect a broader optimism in the cryptocurrency industry, where rapid technological advancements and increasing adoption rates are expected to drive significant growth. As more individuals and institutions embrace digital assets, the potential for exponential market expansion becomes increasingly plausible.
