Upbit announced on its official website regarding the recent hacking incident, "We are reporting the cyber intrusion incident in accordance with relevant laws and investigating the cause and scale of the incident. There is no excuse for this incident, which was due to insufficient security management." It was emphasized, "The identified damaged assets are approximately 44.5 billion won, with member assets accounting for about 38.6 billion won. Of this, 2.3 billion won has been frozen, and our company's damaged assets are about 5.9 billion won. All member assets will be fully compensated with Upbit's holdings. We are currently overhauling the wallet system and will resume deposits and withdrawals as soon as stability is confirmed."
