Ledger: "Smartphone chipsets like Solana Seeker are at high risk of fund theft from EMFI attacks"

Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger pointed out that chipsets installed in smartphones, such as the Solana-based smartphone Solana Seeker, can be completely compromised by EMFI (Electromagnetic Fault Injection) attacks. Ledger pointed out, "As a result of recent EMFI attack tests targeting MediaTek's MT6878 chip, we have gained complete and absolute control over the smartphone. In the case of smartphones equipped with cryptocurrency wallets, hacking of private keys and theft of funds are possible." It also pointed out, "This flaw is an internal design issue and cannot be resolved through software updates." In response, MediaTek explained, "The MT6878 chipset is intended for consumer products, not for financial or hardware security modules, and is not designed to defend against physical attacks like EMFI."
