May 15, 2024, 11:48 AM
The layer-2 bridge XLink, part of the Bitcoin DeFi protocol ALEX, announced on its official X account that it has restored all assets stolen from smart contracts on the BSC that were exposed to an exploit. XLink credited a white-hat hacker for assisting in the recovery of the stolen assets and expressed gratitude for their support. Blockchain security firm CertiK reported on May 14 that a sudden contract upgrade on the ALEX protocol bridge led to suspicious transactions worth $4.3 million. The ALEX team worked with major exchanges to freeze the stolen funds and facilitate their recovery.
