Biden electoral campaign considering the addition of crypto donations

U.S. President Joe Biden is pursuing a plan to receive donations in support of his presidential campaign in cryptocurrency through Coinbase Commerce, The Block reported, citing multiple sources. The publication outlined that it was discovered that the Biden camp is in close discussion with cryptocurrency industry officials for this purpose. Former U.S. President Donald Trump, who previously added cryptocurrency to his presidential election donation options, is also using Coinbase Commerce. This decision by the Biden camp is part of an effort to win over the support of cryptocurrency voters. Another source outlined that the Biden camp is keen on cryptocurrency issues and wants to create the perception that they are not the enemy of cryptocurrency. The Biden campaign appears to have changed its stance given that a backlash from inside and outside the industry grew stronger over the previous veto of Congress's effort to invalidate accounting guidelines for financial companies' cryptocurrency custody obligations (SAB 121).
