Stacks Foundation completes code for Nakamoto upgrade, set for August launch

The Bitcoin layer-2 platform Stacks Foundation announced on its official website that the code for Nakamoto Activation, the final step of the Nakamoto upgrade, has been completed. The Nakamoto codebase, including enhancements for Signer resiliency added after the first phase (Instantiation), is now ready for auditing, testnet deployment and extensive testing. Completed ahead of its July 15 target date, the upgrade is set to activate at the end of August. Once activated, it will enable faster transaction confirmations, ensure full Bitcoin finality and pave the way for the release of sBTC.
