OmegaPro founder arrested on $4B fraud charges

Andreas Szakacs, co-founder of OmegaPro, a forex and cryptocurrency investment platform, was arrested in Turkey in July on charges of defrauding investors of $4 billion through a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme, CoinDesk reported, citing local media sources. As part of the investigation, Turkish authorities seized 32 cold wallets and computers and tracked the movement of $160 million worth of cryptocurrency. OmegaPro is understood to have ceased operations in 2022.
