Investors are moving Bitcoin off exchanges ahead of economic data releases including the Federal Reserve’s benchmark rate decision, GDP and PCE inflation figures, according to blockchain analytics platform Santiment. The data showed net Bitcoin outflows from exchanges reached 14,900 BTC, marking the largest daily net outflow in five weeks.
Santiment said heavier Bitcoin outflows than inflows to exchanges suggest relatively less positioning for immediate selling. It identified $80,000 as a support level and said if BTC holds that level and exchange reserves keep falling, the price could rebound to $82,500-$84,000. If BTC falls under $79,000, however, the bullish outlook could weaken. Santiment added the market should also watch whether BTC regains $82,500 after the macroeconomic data releases.

Austin Campbell, founder and CEO of Zero Knowledge, said stablecoins move bank deposits rather than destroy them, arguing in an interview with CoinDesk that deposit flight caused by stablecoins is mathematically impossible.
Campbell said ownership of money changes, but the funds do not actually leave the banking system. When someone buys a stablecoin, the money goes into another person’s bank account, and when the stablecoin is redeemed, the process works in reverse, Campbell said. Deposit ownership therefore moves between accounts or banks, but the overall pool of funds does not disappear in the process, according to Campbell. Campbell added that stablecoins are closer to cash or money market products than to bank deposits created through leverage.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is investigating whether Polymarket took sufficient steps to block U.S. users from accessing its offshore platform, Reuters reported, citing industry sources. The probe is focused on Polymarket’s geolocation-based access controls and advertising activity in the United States.
The CFTC is also examining customer sign-up procedures and user protection measures on Polymarket’s U.S. platform. In 2022, Polymarket paid a $1.4 million fine over allegations it offered contract products without reporting to or registering with regulators, and blocked access for U.S. users. Reuters added that the CFTC and the U.S. Department of Justice had also conducted and closed a similar investigation in 2025.

CFTC Chairman Mike Selig said the agency has the expertise and responsibility to defend its exclusive jurisdiction over commodity derivatives and will do so. The CFTC had previously filed similar lawsuits against nine states, including Kentucky, New Mexico and Wisconsin, with Utah becoming the 10th.

Bitcoin needs to hold $75,500 to preserve the uptrend structure formed since its summer low, Jesse Marre, senior portfolio manager at digital asset investment firm Hilbert Group, said in an analysis, according to Crypto Briefing.
Marre identified a short-term support zone at $78,500 to $79,500, where a trendline supporting Bitcoin’s recent sideways movement is located. Marre warned that if the decline continues below $75,500, the recovery structure built since summer could break down and send BTC back toward its previous low range.
On the upside, Bitcoin needs to reclaim $81,400 to re-enter its short-term consolidation range, Marre said. If BTC then breaks through $85,000 and $87,500 in sequence, it could rebound toward $95,000 to $98,000 depending on market conditions.
Marre pointed to rising oil prices and a selloff in AI-related tech stocks as drivers of Bitcoin’s weakness. Marre also cited the U.S. Federal Reserve’s rate decision this week as a key variable, and expects the Fed to keep rates unchanged at this meeting while maintaining a hawkish stance, citing inflation pressures and resilient economic growth.
