Indian court orders shutdown of 38 scam websites impersonating Mudrex

Mudrex, a cryptocurrency exchange, secured a court order from the Delhi High Court directing India's Ministry of Communication to shut down 38 fraudulent websites using Mudrex's name, according to CoinDesk. The court's decision, issued on Aug. 23, requires the ministry to comply within a week. Mudrex took legal action after numerous reports of scams, with an estimated 1,000 victims losing over $50,000. Scammers impersonated Mudrex employees on Telegram, enticing investors with rewards and fake investment opportunities.
