The U.S. Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Battle Born Investments, which claimed ownership of 69,370 BTC seized from the defunct dark web platform, Silk Road. According to Decrypt, the company claimed that it had purchased the rights to that quantity of Bitcoin. The publication explained that the dismissal of the lawsuit clears a path for the U.S. government to sell off the $4.38 billion worth of confiscated Silk Road Bitcoin.
In recent weeks, various political figures, including former U.S. President Donald Trump, have suggested that the government shouldn’t sell off its Bitcoin holdings.
