Vitalik Buterin discusses ‘The Splurge’ phase in Ethereum development

In a recent series of blog posts on his website, detailing the potential futures of the Ethereum protocol, co-founder Vitalik Buterin discussed "the Splurge." He described it as addressing a variety of smaller, miscellaneous aspects of Ethereum's protocol design that don't fit neatly into a single category. Buterin outlined the objectives of the Splurge as follows: to evolve the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) into a performant and stable "endgame" state, implement in-protocol account abstraction for enhanced security and convenience, optimize transaction fee economics to boost scalability and reduce risks and study advanced cryptographic techniques that could significantly improve Ethereum in the long term. Since mid-October, Buterin has been presenting these visions for the Ethereum ecosystem, which also include the Surge, the Scourge, the Verge and the Purge.
