CryptoSlate: Polymarket's election prediction accuracy higher than CNN

With former U.S. President Donald Trump elected as the 47th president, CryptoSlate reported that the election prediction accuracy of decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket was a much better indicator than CNN, the New York Times and other media outlets. Haseeb Qureshi, a partner at cryptocurrency investment fund Dragonfly Capital, said that even on the eve of the election, Polymarket's Trump victory probability differed from that of the traditional opinion poll-based model. While the opinion poll-based model predicted a close 50/50 race, Polymarket's Trump victory probability was around 62%. At the time, media analysts were skeptical of Polymarket's figures, citing platform bias and the possibility of wash trading.
