Hedera: EDF completes POC to automate renewable energy certificate management

Decentralized ledger platform Hedera announced via its official Medium blog that Électricité de France (EDF), one of the world’s largest electricity producers and an active member of the Hedera Council, has successfully completed a proof-of-concept (POC) aimed at automating the management of renewable energy certificates (RECs). This initiative was developed in collaboration with REDEX and Rekursive Labs, utilizing Hedera's distributed ledger technology (DLT) and the open-source Guardian platform. The POC, demonstrated at EDF’s MASERA Microgrid in Singapore, successfully enabled the real-time redemption of tokenized RECs at electric vehicle charging stations, ensuring that energy consumption was directly aligned with certified green energy production.
