U.S. OCC to approve listing of spot Bitcoin options

Eric Balchunas, senior exchange-traded fund (ETF) analyst at Bloomberg, reported via X that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) just announced that it is preparing to approve the listing of options products related to spot Bitcoin ETFs. On that basis, Balchunas suggested that it’s not a case of if Bitcoin options products would be listed but when. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced on November 15 that it would allow the listing of options products related to spot Bitcoin ETFs. It is expected that spot Bitcoin ETF options trading will be possible within the first quarter of next year.
