Mow added that the issue now feels more realistic, noting that an Ethereum researcher, Vitalik Buterin, recently said the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm could be broken by quantum computers.

Crypto trader Ansem said on X there is a bigger opportunity in building services around speculative trading itself than in predicting the next meme coin to capture market attention. Ansem added that younger traders are becoming increasingly comfortable with assets whose value is shaped by internet culture, and said their behavior differs significantly from that of traditional investors. While individual memes may emerge and disappear, demand for trading them could prove more durable, Ansem said, adding that Ansem is interested in how developers can turn that recurring trading activity into sustainable businesses and long-term value.

Tron founder Justin Sun said his lawsuit against the Trump family’s crypto project World Liberty Financial (WLFI) was a routine exercise of investor rights and does not change his support for President Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency policy. In a recent interview, Sun said the WLFI project lacked transparency and adequate disclosure, and raised suspected fraud concerns, prompting him to formally file suit in a federal court in California. Sun added the case was an individual dispute and said his support remained unchanged for Trump’s cryptocurrency policy and strategy for developing the artificial intelligence industry. Sun said the amount tied to the lawsuit with WLFI could reach $400 million to $500 million, but would not have a major impact on his overall asset portfolio. Sun also said he continues to invest in U.S. technology stocks and remains optimistic about approval of a spot TRX ETF, the onchain migration of the U.S. stock market, U.S. dollar strength, and growth in the AI industry. Separately, Sun filed the lawsuit in April, alleging WLFI had improperly frozen tokens belonging to him as an early investor and restricted his participation in governance voting.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF fund flows appear to reflect existing market trends rather than serve as a leading indicator for future prices, according to an analysis by crypto market maker DWF Labs. Based on an analysis of 694 trading days since the ETFs launched in January 2024, DWF Labs found net outflows in seven of eight instances when BTC fell more than 15%. In contrast, all nine instances when BTC rose more than 15% were accompanied by net inflows. The correlation coefficient between ETF flows and BTC price changes over the previous five trading days was 0.54, while the correlation with price changes over the following five trading days was just 0.03. DWF Labs said this suggests ETF flows are more closely tied to price moves that have already occurred than to future price action. The firm added some investors may use a hedging strategy that combines ETF purchases with sales of CME Bitcoin futures, making it difficult to gauge actual investor sentiment based on ETF flow data alone.
