People's perception of Ethereum is outdated: Bitwise CIO

Matt Hougan, chief investment officer (CIO) of crypto asset fund manager Bitwise, wrote on X that it is commonly believed that Solana is cheap, easy and fun, while Ethereum is slow, unwieldy and expensive. People's "mental model" of Ethereum is out of date, Hougan noted, explaining that some of the biggest names in AI agents (e.g., Clanker and Virtuals) are running on Ethereum via Coinbase's layer-2 network Base. If Ethereum is able to enhance its ease of use, Hougan reckons 2025 is likely to be a good year for Ethereum.
