Russian businesses have started using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for international payments, following new laws that support this practice to counteract Western sanctions. According to a Reuters report, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with the Russia 24 television channel that cryptocurrencies mined in Russia are being used in foreign trade transactions and that this approach is expected to expand next year. Earlier this month, President Vladimir Putin mentioned that the U.S. is compromising the dollar's status as the world's reserve currency by politicizing its use, pushing many countries towards alternative assets.
